Progress being made in formulation of St. Maarten Security Plan. GREAT BAY, St. Maarten. Governor Franklyn E. Richards, says that progress is being made for the formulation of St. Maarten's own Security Plan that will be tailored to the islands specific needs.
Consultants have already met with key stakeholders such as Police, Customs, Dutch Research Institution WODC, the Public Prosecutors Office, the Office of the Lt. Governor among others before the Christmas holidays and since the New Year began. Various studies and reports compiled about crime and judicial developments such as the Romer Report and the Commission Wiel Report are also being reviewed. Antillean Minister of Justice David Dick at the beginning of December signed documents pertaining to the development of the St. Maarten Security Plan. |
